Work Steps Powder
- Heat 1 liter of water to 70°C.
- Add 125 grams of indigo powder and stir until dissolved.
- Add 18 grams of sodium dithionite and 14 grams of soda ash, then stir again until well mixed.
- Cover the solution tightly and let it sit for 15 minutes.
b. Mixing the Dye Solution
- Meanwhile, prepare a separate mixture of 9 liters of clean water, 3.6 grams of soda ash, and 4.5 grams of sodium dithionite in a container.
- After 15 minutes, combine the prepared dye solution with this mixture and stir until well blended.
- Let the solution sit, covered, for 1 hour to allow optimal reduction.
c. Dyeing Process
- Submerge pre-washed fabric into the dye bath, ensuring even coverage.
- Remove and let it oxidize — Avoid direct sunlight.
- Repeat the dipping process until the desired shade of blue is achieved.
